Website Designers In Maryland

Website Designers in Maryland Can Help You Get Found Online and Build Your Brand…

However, all Website Designers are NOT created equal.  Here’s what to look for…

website designers in marylandThe 2 goals of most business owners who want a website is to generate leads and to increase their income.  Regardless of whether they have an off-line business and a storefront or whether they are strictly an online business, the goals are the same as far as leads and income.

I’ve worked with various Website Designers in Maryland over the years (before I became a Website Designer myself) and I can tell you from experience, each one was very different.

Here’s how I’ve categorized Website Designers:

  • Strictly Technical – These Website Designers can put up a website, but really don’t understand sales, marketing, and relationship building; they are great at the tech stuff, but not so good at the bigger picture;  many of these are what I call “computer nerds”.  These guys and gals are great at what they do, but they only do part of what needs to be done, which is putting up a website; there is so much more than that.
  • Not Technical – These Website Designers have a good understanding of sales and marketing as well as relationship building.  Often these types outsource the work of the technical aspects of the website design project, but they do understand the sales end of it.  However, the lack of technical understanding can limit the project.
  • Fly-by-Night – These types of Website Designers talk a good game, but don’t deliver results.  Many of them don’t even have a website or a portfolio, just a business card that says they’re a web designer or they simply tell  you they are.  They may have dabbled in website design, but are not experts.  They often disappear and are difficult to work with.
  • Blended Website Designer – By this I mean that they are equally technical and equally have a firm understanding of sales, marketing and relationship building.  They understand systems and processes and can put together an online business and not just a “website”.  These types of Website Designers are hard to find!

In my 10 years of running an online business, I’ve come across the first 3 types of Website Designers over and over.  In fact, in 2011, I became a Website Designer because I couldn’t find what I call a “Blended Website Designer” — someone who was technical, but had a deep understanding of the sales and marketing end of website design.

Since 2011 I’ve created dozens of websites for clients.  Here’s what I include in my website design packages that most Website Designers in Maryland do not include:

  • Sales Copywriting and Web Content – Most Website Designers are not good writers.  In fact, most business owners are not good writers either.  Yet there are thousands of websites full of poor content that simply don’t convert!  So many business owners waste thousands of dollars by hiring an SEO company (Search Engine Optimization) to help them get to page 1 on Google, yet when the visitor arrives on the site they aren’t being converted to a lead or a customer due to poor writing and/or confusion when they get to the website.  “A Confused Mind Never Buys.”  Good writing gets people to take action and keeps them engaged.  Good copywriting can make or break your website and you should spend your money first on the copywriting before you ever spend a dime on SEO!  I am a published author and former reporter with years of experience in writing sales copy and web content.  Good writing is about satisfying the deepest needs of those who buy your product or service!  Do that and you will Grow Your Profits and Engage Customers!
  • Search Engine Optimization — I believe in setting up SEO as I am building the website and I SEO every single page of the website.  I also teach my clients about SEO and keywords, especially if they are going to be Blogging on their site regularly.  I have an understanding of SEO and have many clients who are on the first page of Google due to my SEO set up and continued SEO work on their sites!
  • List Building Set Up — Many business owners spend thousands of dollars on putting up a website, but then fail to capture names and email addresses when visitors arrive on their site.  Big Mistake!  Not only do they fail to capture names and email addresses, they fail to set up a clear path of what they want visitors to do when they arrive on their site.  The first rule of thumb in running an online business, is to build a list!  The people who give their name and email address are potential clients!  However, first have to build a relationship with them and you do that by setting up autoresponders (which are pre-written email messages that start going out as soon as they sign up on your website in your optin box).  I am extremely experienced in Aweber which is a valuable tool in building a list, a relationship and increasing sales.  Aweber automates your business and brings you leads monthly and sometimes weekly or daily!
  • Monetizing Your Website — Regardless of whether my clients have an offline business or a strictly online business, I work with them in setting up a income strategy on their website.  Many business owners are leaving money on the table by  not having an income strategy as there are many ways to create passive income with their websites.  This is one of my specialties!

So if you’re in the market for website designers in Maryland, make sure they meet the criteria above because just having a good website is not the same as building and running a profitable online business!  To take a look at my website design packages, click here.

Website Design Tips

*Take the “Does Your Website Suck Quiz” below…

website design tipsAs a Website Designer, let’s just say I’ve seen a lot of b-a-d websites. Have you ever seen the billboard signs saying, “We Buy Ugly Houses” put up by real estate investors.  I’d love to put up a sign saying, “I can fix your Ugly Website”!

Honestly though, it’s not just being “attractive” or “unattractive” that really matters, however, it’s more about what the purpose and the goal of the website is (or should be) that makes the difference.

For example, there are a lot of websites that look attractive, but make no money and do not convert traffic to customers.  On the other side of the coin, I have seen some not so attractive websites, that make the owner 6+ figures a year!  So having a “pretty” website isn’t the answer.

The answer is knowing the purpose of your website.

Most business owners aren’t experts in website design or the elements of a good website.  All they know is… Finish Reading

Making Money with Affiliate Marketing

Selling other people’s products — Affiliate Marketing — is a great way to start an online business!  If you don’t yet have your own product to sell this is a great option.  It’s easy to set up and if you do it right, you can start making money within 30-90 days!

Affiliate Marketing is easy because you basically sign up for a free Affiliate account on the website of the company whose products or services you want to promote; then you refer that person’s products and/or services to your network of people and you get paid when a sale is made.

I have affiliate programs set up on both of my websites and I pay others when they refer people to me that want to take my online courses and when they need to have a website built.

A great example of an affiliate program is on the website:  www.blinds.com  If you enroll as an affiliate of blinds.com then you can resell their products and get paid a 5-7% commission!  So if a $400 product is sold, you would receive a check for $20+!  Blinds.com does all the work. The Internet is arguably the most powerful business tool in our history as you can use it to make money, save money, and create new streams of income quickly and easily with very little start-up capital.

I got hooked on having an online business almost a decade ago when I created an online course and made my first $2,500!  I loved being able to stay home with my family, make money, have fun and help others.

As an Internet Marketing student for the past 10 years, I’ve learned a lot and I love to find other successful online business owners so I can share their success with my readers.

So here are some Internet Success Stories that should give you motivation, inspiration and get those ideas spinning in your head!

Internet Success Storieswww.braidsbybreslin.com  – Ricky Breslin started her online business because she saw a need in the industry and simply “filled the need“.  Back in 2004 she was looking for instructional videos on how to do hair and the quality of the videos she found was horrible.  So together with her husband they decided they could do a much better job and fill the void in the market and that’s how “Braids by Breslin” was born.  The website receives thousands of hits per month and they average approximately $35,00 to $50,000 in Monthly Income from the different products, courses, etc. that they offer.  Way to go Ricky Breslin! Blogs that Make Money

Blogs are becoming more and more popular on the Internet these days as they are a great way for businesses of all sizes to communicate with their audience.

A blog is simply an “online journal” that provides commentary, ideas, thoughts, news, etc about a particular subject matter.  Regardless of what industry you’re in, you can blog about your subject matter.

An added benefit to having a blog on your website about your niche subject is that you are generating new and valuable content and Google likes that because then your website will be seen as more “relevant” and that’s important to Google.  When a user searches a term on Google, their goal is to give the searcher the most “relevant search results.”  Consequently, by having a blog and adding new content on a regular basis, your website will be more successful.

Blogs have evolved over the years and some are now Finish Reading
